Here's part 2

Inglewood High School Band - How We Became - Part 1

I was a part of the Inglewood High School Band from 2000-2003, I didn't really appreciate the experience or my band director, Mr. Conrad Hutchinson III "Hutch" at the time but now I do. I gained some amazing life long friends while being in the band. Oh and check out the 1:17 mark thats my twin Chris he's talking about and he shows his graduation picture.

Favorite Song of the Moment

Who Says by John Mayer, I love this song so much. I fall asleep to it every night. Well I guess I should explain that statement. So if you've been following my blog you know that I love music. I love music so much so that I listen to it all day and when I can't listen to it I have a song in my head that Im humming or singing in my head. So back to the statement about falling asleep to this song, Some people watch tv or read a book before they go to bed, well I listen to music and well fall asleep to it. Ok imma stop repeating myself but this is a great song that is soft and puts me to sleep every night. Hold on im not trying to say that its a boring song because its not, I fall asleep because well Im sleepy, I put my ipod or computer on sleep mode so it plays for like 2 or 3 hours and then goes off to save my power. Ok Im done now. Just listen to the song, its fantastic and so is John Mayer.

The OFFICIAL "Run This Town" Video

I love this song and video, but I still haven't decided to buy the album.

Cowboy Casanova - New Album, "Play On" Available 11.3.09!

This version sounds a little more country than the first one I posted. I love both versions and I love Carrie Underwood.

Carrie Underwood-Cowboy Casanova

I've loved Carrie Underwood since her AI days, and I love both of her cd's. This is Carrie Underwood's new song from her album that comes out on November 3 which I will be getting. I'm loving this song right now. It doesn't sound like country music at all.

Happy Birthday Kobe

August 23, 1978

Kobe Bryant

I've seen a lot of Kobe videos and this is by far one of the best I've seen. I have to give props to the guy who made it cuz he's an admitted Celtics fan but he loves Kobe. I never thought I would ever give props to anyone who liked the Celtics. O and he agrees with me and pretty every other Laker fan in regards to Kobe being the best player.

Miami Dolphins

It's that time of year again. The football season is upon us. My Miami Dolphins start their season against the Falcons on September 13th. Last year we won the AFC East and we are looking to improve on that this year. My favorite player, Jason Taylor, is back where he belongs ing a 'Phin jersey. He'll no longer be playing DE, he is now a OLB. I'm so excited about this coming season. In honor of the season to come here is a video of the original Miami Dolphin fight song and the new version of the fight song by T-Pain. I know there are quite of few DolFans who don't like the new version but I kinda like it.

Girl Named Tennessee

Here's another needtobreate song that I love. I can't wait for their cd to come out on August 25th.

Waiting On The World To Change

In the previous post I wrote about my feelings regarding politics and I mentioned that John Mayer's song Waiting on the World to Change is exactly how I feel. Here is the song and the lyrics are below.

Me and all my friends
We're all misunderstood
They say we stand for nothing and
There's no way we ever could

Now we see everything that's going wrong
With the world and those who lead it
We just feel like we don't have the means
To rise above and beat it

So we keep waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

It's hard to beat the system
When we're standing at a distance
So we keep waiting
Waiting on the world to change

Now if we had the power
To bring our neighbors home from war
They would have never missed a Christmas
No more ribbons on their door
And when you trust your television
What you get is what you got
Cause when they own the information, oh
They can bend it all they want

That's why we're waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

It's not that we don't care,
We just know that the fight ain't fair
So we keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

And we're still waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting waiting on the world to change
One day our generation
Is gonna rule the population
So we keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change (more)

Checking In

Hey everyone, hope your life is well. I've been really busy lately, in addition to my course work at Ashford University, I am now training to become a medical coder. Homework has taken over my life. It's August 1st which means that next month is my birthday, I'll be 24, wow has this year gone by fast. I can't wait for football the football season to start, so I can watch the Trojans, Dolphins, Saints and Chargers play. Football season is great cuz it helps curb my desire for the NBA season to start already. I like baseball and I love the Dodgers but baseball does nothing for me in my need to see the Lakers play. At least football can be a distraction of some sort. Speaking of the Lakers we finally have resigned the candyman Lamar Odom. You have know idea how excited I was when I found out the deal had been finalized.

Moving on, I am so over politics, I used to love it, now I rarely watch CNN and MSNBC or go to sites like the Huffington Post because everything about the political world irritates me. People talk about how young people aren't involved in politics and they claim we don't care about what happens but in reality we do care. We care about health care, the economy and other important issues. What we don't care about is all the crap that comes with it. We don't give a damn about all the drama and the bickering. We hate that you would go against something that would have enormous benefits to a massive amount of people simply because the opposite party is for it. My feelings can best be explained by John Mayer's song Waiting On The World To Change. Everything about that song is how I feel about politics today. I kinda feel bad for feeling that way because last year I was so pumped. I actively campaigned on this blog for now President Barack Obama, I will never forget watching the inaguration and having so much hope and pride about America. I still have that hope and pride but I have no interest in dealing with anything political right now so I'll just focus on school and sports.

Now that I'm done with that little rant, well it wasn't really a rant but anyways... I seriously think that my mother and I need to seek therapy. I think I understand where she's coming from (maybe I don't) but she has no clue about where I'm coming from. I don't even try to explain my position because she just doesn't get it and its a waste of my time. The issue at hand is communication or the lack there of according to my mother. She doesn't think I communicate enough and I think that I do but at the same time the things she thinks I should communicate about never enter my mind. Such as her thinking I should give my opinion about something without her asking me. If it doesn't dawn on me to tell her my opinion how am I suppose to just state my opinion. When it comes to my version of communication and hers we are on two totally different wave links. Thus, we need to therapy. I'm not a talker, my mother is. I hate talking on the phone, if I never have to talk on the phone again I would be a happy woman. I prefer texts and emails. If I'm out in public, I most likely won't be the one initiating the conversation. Am I shy yes, though there are times that I have no problem speaking up. I also hate confrontation or any drama that I feel is completely unnecessary. So there are times when people say things that I don't agree with or irritate me and I'll just let it go and not say anything. My mother is totally different, she loves to talk and she rarely holds her tongue on anything. Can I try to communicate more, yes and I am trying but I also think you should understand that talking isn't always my nature and the things that you would communicate about aren't always what I'm going to communicate about. So as I said in from the start my mother and I need therapy or at least a mediator so that our positions on certain things can be made clear because me just saying it obviously isn't working.

Alright I'm done for the night. Hope your days are great and remain great.

Cherish

The murder of George Tiller does not help the pro life cause

Friday, May 29, 2009

So it's 1 in the morning and i should be asleep but i'm not obviously. Decided to post an update. I don't know what to write about. Hmm... I guess I could talk about the greatest team ever, the Lakers of course, we're gonna close out the chicken nuggets tomorrow and clip the birdmans wings in the process. I really don't have anything to say but I'm bored and decided to do this. Note to self never write a blog when bored, the result is a bunch of random thoughts that aren't all that entertaining. So now I'm going to type what ever comes in my head. I wonder what will I type about. I have school tomorrow. I love the Lakers, I bleed purple and gold, GO LAKERS!!! Maybe I should go and post something on twitter, at least thats interactive. I have to get a new phone mine keeps on turning off for no reason I guess I dropped to many times. Was that a run on sentence I think it was. O damn now it's like I'm in school and trying to have perfect grammar. I want ice cream does anyone else want ice cream. Ok now I'm tired of typing but I don't want to stop is that weird probably not. Ok I'm gonna go now. Well at least I thought I was. Well actually I am cuz I got school tomorrow but I really don't want to go maybe I won't. Hey the Lakers play tomorrow it should be a holiday no school on days the Lakers play, that sounds good to me. Ok good night everyone. I wonder what I just wrote about, It's probably gonna be so random considering that I'm writing what ever comes in my head. Ok good bye. I think this is actually fun typing away and not reading what your are writing about. Tomorrow when I read this what and I gonna think about it. I'll probably think it's genius considering I wrote it. Ok back to twitter now peace everyone.

Friday, May 15, 2009

Hey everyone sorry for the lack of updates. Past few months have been extremely busy for me. Give me a few weeks and I should be able to start posting more. I'm loving being in school again. I now attend Ashford University and it's great. My brother just graduated from the University of Arkansas @ Pine Bluff. I'm so happy for him and also proud. I use to talk about television shows that I watch but I've cut back on my tv watching. Though there are some so that I watch all the time, two of them being Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice. I thought the cliff hanger from PP was crazy until I saw GA. I am still in shock from the last ten minutes. If you saw it you know what I'm talking about. I have definitely been following my beloved Lakers. It's like being on a roller coaster that won't end but I still have faith in my team. If you are on twitter, I post updates everyday, all day, that is the best way to get in touch with me, so follow me my username is eyesoffire. I occasionally get on facebook and I rarely use myspace anymore though if you send me a message I will respond. For those of you who know me personally and have my number, I hear the complaints about me never answering my phone. I don't like talking on the phone so send me a text or an email, I will respond. Thank you to everyone who called, texted, emailed me during the time my mom was in the hospital. Those of you who prayed, I am truly grateful, God is a good Good. Ok I know that this is long so I'll end it now but just know that I will start posting again maybe in like two weeks, youtube updates will be faster.

Be Blessed

I'm obsessed with Jennifer Nettles

My obsession with Jennifer Nettles continues.

The 34-year-old Sugarland songstress completes the popular chain letter for Us

1. I still have two baby teeth that don' have permanent teeth under them.
2. I broke my left ring finger jumping off a riser at the end of one of my shows two years ago.
3. I was a majorette in my high school marching band.
4. I still have, and use, the same upright piano I had when I was a little girl.
5. I love flannel sheets in the winter.
6. I need new luggage.
7. I have a fantasy dream of taking a love slave to Spain, having a kid there and learning to cook delicious food there for a time. Not forever. (Of course the kid part would be forever, thus the fantasy. Not ready.)
8. I'm etremely sensitive to dry climates (thus I would have to live on the coast of Spain for my fantasy dream.)
9. Though I have to do them for awards shows, I hate the process of a mani-pedi. It feel slike sitting around and wasting time. Plus, the wait on dry time feels like you're trapped.
10. I'd prefer a great massage.
11. I grew up with a ton of great aunts and uncles. One of my grandmothers has 10 brothers and sisters.
12. I have inherited and obsession for breakfast from my keyboard player.
13. I have a phobia of water in inappropriate places. Like floors and countertops.
14. I have a phobia of drains and hair anywhere in the shower (drains, soap: gross!).
15. I replaces my dishwasher with a wine refrigerator. Priorities, people!
16. I love to go junking, looking for old furniture and treasures (which can involve some antiquing, but doesn't have to).
17. I have a coffee table that I had made out of an old pinball machine top.
18. I was a camp counselor in college. One of the most fun things ever!
19. Green is my favorite color.
20. I love cooking and entertaining in my home.
21. I like cats (though I don't have any pets) and wonder if I'll ever get to be the "crazy cat lady" when I'm old.
22. I love the efficiency and celebration of a cupcake.
23. I have a new obsession with feathers. I want to collect them.
24. I think if you can't walk outside in a tank top and jeans, that constitutes "cold weather."
25. I'm writing this in my bed, on my BlackBerry, and I'm starving for breakfast so I'm getting up now.

Random Thoughts

I know the plans I have for you...plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

"I know the plans I have for you" is one of my first thoughts in the morning, right after what time is it and i have to go to the bathroom. "I know the plans I have for you" is one of my few recurring thoughts throughout the day. It's in my head so much so that I rarely get stressed.

If you see yourself on camera drop fast

Apparently Carrie Underwood doesn't want anyone to know she's dating A hockey player considering how quick she dropped when she noticed she was on camera. This is funny.

I love the Los Angeles skyline

I didn't take these pictures but this is pretty much what I see from my house. I love when there is snow on the mountains and the all the lights are on at night.

Quotes I Love

While I'm in the quoting mood, here's another one. This is from Grey's Anatomy. McSteamy was talking to Callie. "Walk tall. All you can do is be brave enough to get out there. You fought, you loved, you lost. Walk tall..."

Quotes I Love

This is how I view myself at times. If you can't read it, it says, I'm probably in the sky, flying with fishes. Or maybe in the ocean, swimming with the pigeons. See my world is different

Color Scheme

So I changed the color scheme. It not going to stay this color. I just had to get rid of the gray and dark blue.

Favorite Song of the Moment

Hey here is a clearer sounding "You Don't Have To Believe Me" by Eric Hutchinson

Changing The Blogs Look

I'm looking at my blog and I'm not liking the colors. Gray and Blue are dull. I think I'm going to go with something bright and cheerful, like me.

Favorite Song of the Moment

I love this song and artist. Eric Hutchinson, You Don't Have To Believe Me

Update

So here's the deal. I have two major things going on in my life right now. The first you already know about, school. For those of you who don't know, I attend Ashford University and I'm majoring in Social Science. The second thing going on is work, well at least training for work. I am the office manager at one of my families tax offices and I have been trying to become a certified tax preparer, which I am now. These next few days are going to be amazing, culminating with Barack Obama being sworn in as our 44th president. Now that training is over I should be able to start posting more updates to the blog. Though not as much as I would like because I'm still busy with school. I hope everyone is doing well.

Much Love,

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year everyone. I am so grateful that God has brought my family, friends and me to 2009. I hope that all you have a safe and productive new year. I do have some prayer request for the new year. First, that my moms lung are completely healed so that she can breathe on her own without the oxygen tanks. Second, that my brother, mom and I all do well in school. Finally, that all of my family and friends are able to achieve all that God has for them in 2009.

" I believe that if you see yourself as God sees you--if you have a good sense of self-esteem--you will somehow be able to cope with almost anything, because your will find that God's grace is indeed sufficient for you."

Have a great year everyone!!!
